Statement of Need
To qualify for Meaningful Use, improve patient engagement, and prepare for value-based reimbursement, nearly 40% of all physicians are looking to switch EHRs. Many have put it off because this big switch is very challenging.
If they continue to put it off those providers may face penalties from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid over the next five years. New research is also showing that patients are now more likely to switch providers for access to medical records online through a patient portal. The combination of payment penalties and loss of patients could be catastrophic for independent healthcare practices.
To help physicians understand why they need to upgrade their EHR in 2015 and how to do it as painlessly as possible.
